Pattern was free to me for helping test.
I like sewing with PDF patterns, especially when they're well written, and one of my favorites is the Lulu Dress and Top from Craftiness is Not Optional. I've sewn up several recently.
This one is my favorite. I cut the pocket out so that the little bird would be right in the middle of it. It's such a cute little tiny pocket for my cute not so tiny baby.
This one I made as a back-to-school dress. I remember the dilemma of whether I would wear my new school clothes and be way too hot in sweaters when it was still 80 degrees or wear my old summer clothes. This way, she gets a new dress for the first day that will be weather appropriate.
I added some piping to the pockets that I made from the knit fabric.
I love how the sleeves and neckline turn out on this. I've been using a double needle for binding lately, and I really love how nicely it turns out.
She was happy to discover the pockets too.
Okay, this one was just for fun, but I really like it. Girls like Star Wars too, and the pink in the fabric meant I could make a Star Wars dress that still is obviously girly.
Jess is going to give a copy of this pattern to one lucky reader! I'm going to try to make this simple, so to enter just leave a comment. If you want a bonus entry, just follow me in some way (below are a couple of links) and leave a separate comment telling me how. Giveaway will end Monday at midnight (give or take-if it doesn't say closed in the title of the post, then you can still enter).
UPDATE: The winner is comment #10, marnae. If that's you, send me an email (look under the Contact Me tab), and we'll get you your pattern!
