Ruffled Skinny Jeans

See my full disclosure policy here.

Today I'm guest posting over at See Kate Sew for Ruffles 2013. Head over there for the tutorial on the ruffled heart top shown in this post.

I'm going to show you how to add a ruffle to a pair of pants. Or shorts. Or skinny jeans in this case.

I used the skinny jeans pattern from Peek-a-Boo Pattern shop {affiliate links}. The tee is made with the Recess Raglan pattern {not an affiliate link}.<<Just so you know.

First cut two strips of fabric and give them a narrow hem. I cut longer than I thought I'd need, then trimmed of the extra.

Gather the ruffles and stitch them into circles.

With right sides together, stitch the ruffle to the unfinished hem of the pant leg.

Press the seam allowance toward the pant and topstitch just above the seam. This will keep the ruffle facing down.

And there are your skinny jeans, complete with a ruffle at the bottom!

I used a bottomweight with some stretch to it. Maybe a poplin? I got it in the bargain section at Walmart.
