Jersey Love Blog Tour and Giveaway

See my full disclosure policy here.

Disclosure: I was given the pattern and the fabric in exchange for my review. All opinions are my own.

I was thrilled to be asked to participate in the Jersey Love Blog Tour. Jersey Love is a new line of patterns from Fishsticks Designs, featuring fabric from Riley Blake.

I made a couple of Carnival Skorts for my girls, and I love how they turned out! The Carnival Skort pattern features a cute little flared skirt over some knit shorts, which is perfect. A lot of the time we have to find something to go under skirts so my girls can run and play, but this has it built in.

The skirt is made with six panels, so you can mix and match your fabric. I chose to keep the skirts all one color, and instead picked a contrasting fabric for the waistband. The only thing I changed about the pattern was to go ahead and hem everything, instead of letting it curl the way the pattern calls for.

And here's my favorite feature-the built in shorts!

I really loved the Riley Blake knit fabric I worked with. It was a good quality lightweight knit. I was a little worried that the shorts would show through the white stripes of the skirt, but nope, you can't see the shorts at all. Unless my little monkeys girls are showing the shorts off!

It's a cute, fun skirt pattern, and I can think of several ways to adapt it, such as lengthening the shorts underneath for winter.

Here are a few more pictures, just for fun. Be sure to scroll down to enter the giveaway!

Awesome giveaway! I've been eyeballing this pattern. I think it would make great everyday clothes, plus I'm I the rested I. The construction. I've been wanting to make school uniform skirts with the shorts built in. Currently I'm paying about $20 per skirt, because I think the shorts are a must. My 8 year old just feels more comfortable at school...and she likes to play on the monkey bars:)

I love what you did with this pattern. I really like the single color and finished edges. I might have to sew this one sometime soon.
